The VRE Programme management is happy to announce a new round of funding for smaller Rapid Innovation projects, focussing on short term development of tools and applications related to the VRE field.

There will be £600,000 available for around 8-15 projects of £20,000-£75,000 each.

The emphasis of these projects will be to solve some actual itches that exist in academia when it comes to collaboration and sharing of resources. So projects will be judged on the actual issue they will scratch as well as the actual users they are helping.

You can find all the call information in the JISC call 10/09 at: http://www.jisc.ac.uk/fundingopportunities/funding_calls/2009/10/vreri.aspx

This call includes several research priority areas, including Business Community Engagement projects, aimed at application and implementation in the Business community, for more information, please see Appendix E of the call.

This call is part of the JISC VRE programme http://www.jisc.ac.uk/whatwedo/programmes/vre.aspx and strongly related to the JISC Rapid Innovation call http://www.jisc.ac.uk/whatwedo/programmes/inf11/jiscri.aspx.

Please, feel free to discuss this issue on Twitter by using the #VRERI tag.

The deadline for all proposals is 12 noon UK time on 11 November 2009.

For further information, please contact the Programme management at: F.vanTill@jisc.ac.uk

Eligibility: Proposals may be submitted by HE institutions funded via HEFCE, SFC, HEFCW and DEL Northern Ireland, and by FE institutions funded via SFC, DCELLS Wales and DEL Northern Ireland.
