JISC Collections invites proposals to explore the metrics that could be used for the redistribution of costs between all the libraries participating in bloc purchase and to create a model that demonstrates the cost benefits of participating in a bloc purchase. In this context a ‘bloc’ could be all of the higher education institutions in a country, Scotland, England or Northern Ireland or any combination of institutions in those countries, or indeed all of the higher education institutions in the UK.
The work should commence in January 2010 and complete by June 2010.
Funding of up to £20,000 is available excluding VAT.
The deadline for proposals is 12 noon UK time on Friday 27th November 2009.
