Learning through Assessment
29 September 2009
University of York
A UK Centre for Bioscience event
It is recognised that the type of assessment that students undergo is a powerful influence on how they learn. However, in the concerted effort to ensure that assessments are rigorous, reliable, cheat-proof and able to cope with ever-increasing student numbers it can be difficult to view assessment as an episode of learning.
This event aims to promote assessment as an integrated part of learning. The day will cover the key aspects of assessment for learning with a focus on feedback. There will be opportunities for discussion, reflection on practice and to hear ‘real-life’ practice from fellow bioscientists.
