Extreme Makeover: Transforming the face of your Library Service
26 Oct 2009
10:00 – 16:00
The Rose Bowl, Leeds Metropolitan University
The modern library lies at the heart of learning and is increasingly challenged with exploring new ways to engage learners and market resources. Issues of accessibility, learner trends and keeping abreast of the latest developments in resources and services all play a part in creating an inspiring experience for the learner.
This event will provide delegates with a range of interactive workshops where delegates can explore how technologies are being developed across the region to provide a responsive and exciting library experience. These workshops will cover the benefits to the learner, in addition to the implications for technical and learning resources staff.
There will also be an exhibition area for delegates who want to keep abreast of the latest developments with e-resources and an opportunity to network with suppliers and peers across the region.
Aim of event:
- To identify appropriate technologies to engage learners either during induction or an Information Skills session
- To explore new channels of promoting library services
- To network with exhibitors and peers
Delegates will be able to:
- Share experiences and good practice with new technologies and how they are being used in libraries
- Identify key issues when employing new technologies at their institution
- Recognise the range of e-resources available to learners
This event is open to non-supported organisations, though priority is given to supported organisations.
