JISC RSC YH vacancy: Events Officer
(Full time, 35 hours per week, fixed term until 31/7/10 – suitable for job share)
Salary: Grade 4 (£17,026 – £19,645 p.a.)

The JISC Regional Support Centre for Yorkshire and Humberside (JISC RSC YH) supports the Post-16 and Higher Education educational community with e-learning strategy development and implementation. The Centre, based at the University of Leeds, is one of 13 centres in the UK and is funded through the JISC by the LSC and HEFCE as part of the national agenda for e-learning. We are looking for a well organised person to work with the present team of Administrator, Information Officer, Manager and 7 advisors.
Your main role will be to lead administrative support for the JISC RSC YH events programme at the planning, implementation and evaluation stages. The role also includes organising and maintaining the JISC RSC YH information resources through communicating with external regional and national agencies.
You will be educated to at least A level or equivalent, with GCSE or equivalent in English Language and Maths at grade C or above, you will have experience of working in an office environment and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, email, the Internet, database software and spreadsheets. You will be well organised and be able to complete tasks to tight deadlines. The JISC RSC YH is a customer focused centre, it is essential that you have experience of working in a customer liaison or support line role and have a high level of communication skills.
The post will involve regular travel throughout the region and occasionally beyond.
