The Learning and Skills Improvement Service has announced the shortlist for its 2009 Leading the Learner Voice Awards. Now in their third year, the Leading the Learner Voice Awards celebrate the achievements that individuals and organisations in the further education and skills sector have made in embedding the learner voice.
Joe Martin, strategic coordinator, learner and citizen empowerment at LSIS, said, “This year we received a record number of entries, all of an exceptionally high standard. As the concept of learner voice has grown throughout the sector, standards have risen dramatically and this was reflected in some of the truly inspiring submissions we received. The judges have had their most challenging year to date selecting winners, as there were so many worthy candidates.”
Those shortlisted in our region are:
- Bradford College
- Humber Apprentice Panel
- Consortium for Learning
- Thomas Rotherham College
- Bishop Burton College
The awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday 1 July 2009 at the Kensington Roof Gardens in London.
