The Dept for Business, Innovation and Skills supported by Becta is looking for your views.
They have set up a site on ning for policy makers, FE professionals and providers to discuss the implications and potential of new technologies and media to enrich FE. They have put together some simple statements on where things could be heading towards 2020 and how that compares with evidence of where the sector is overall at the moment. They cover five main areas:
- Content and digital resources
- Blogosphere, social media, web 2
- Provider and workforce capability
- Learner experience
- Employers
Some specific groups on each of these topics have been set up and your comments are welcome. Some questions they hope to answer include:
- Do you agree with the aspects of a 2020 vision?
- What would you see differently?
- Where would you go further?
- Do you recognise the 2009 limitations?
- What would you add or change?
- What key actions need to be taken, or barriers removed, to accelerate progress towards a 2020 vision?
Please register on http://altogethernow.ning.com/ and give your views. They want you to really challenge our thinking about what technology will mean for learning in the future. This is a chance for you to influence the future of learning.
