CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS

Potential contributions to the JISC RSC YH e-Learning Conference 2009 programme are now being sought!

This is an opportunity to share your work and generate discussion with colleagues in the region.

Contributors to the conference will be able to enthusiastically demonstrate approaches to using technology that bring practical solutions and have achieved a measurable impact on learners’ engagement, retention and achievement.

Conference themes

• Engaging all learners: inclusivity; accessibility; NEET; 14-19; 24/7 access; Entry to employment; preferences for using technology; future gazing; learning and teaching strategy, working collaboratively with learners, recognising and using existing media.

• Assessing learning: E-assessment; e-portfolios; e-iLP; initial assessment; reflection, functional skills/key skills assessment, assessing informal learning, peer assessment, self-assessment.

• Learning without walls: mobile learning; supporting mobile and personally owned devices/laptops (power, wifi); managing web access/online activity (instant messaging, social networking) without constraining new learning opportunities; online learning environments; use of online learning resources; use of external applications e.g. Google docs; MIS supporting learning and teaching; improving the reliability/ ease-of-use of the environment.

All contributions should focus on one or more of the conference themes.

Types of contribution

We are seeking:

• Case studies, which could include learning, teaching and system changes
• Cutting edge approaches which show a real potential to impact on learning and teaching
• ‘How To’ workshops
