Day One: Introductory Course, 4th March 2009.
Offers an introduction to digitising moving images for online delivery and tackles problems, which may be encountered in the process.
Day Two: Advanced Course, 5th March 2009
Designed to follow on from the introductory course, this course offers greater technical insight into the challenges involved with digitising moving images for online delivery, addressing considerations such as system software, compression and server technology. Although this is offered as a one-day course, it is recommended that participants should have previously attended the Introductory level course or will already have experience of delivering time-based media via the web. Courses can be booked separately.
Supporting Students with Disabilities – Accessing Multimedia Content
Thursday 12th March 2009
10.30 am – 5.00 pm
This one-day course addresses the unique problems raised when trying to provide online access to resources for students with disabilities. Attendees will be provided with a holistic model for targeting this area, working with the technology and infrastructure to support diverse needs. Course content will include an assessment of:
• technologies and approaches in making the move to digital media inclusive
• opportunities for using personal technologies such as iPods, PDAs and MP4 players to host content
