Merry Christmas from the JISC Regional Support Centre for Yorkshire & Humber!

Our 2008 advent blog posts continue with interesting facts you may not know about the JISC Regional Support Centre for Yorkshire & Humber…

Week 3: Excellence in Inclusivity

Visit our Excellence in Inclusivity website to see how JISC RSC YH-supported organisations are using assistive technology with their learners to great effect.

The website contains a growing number of case studies of how regional organisations are using different technology such as the Nintendo Wii, video cameras, iPods, and more, to help learners in their development.

Specific learner needs highlighted include supporting learners that require help with

  • spelling
  • organising written work
  • remembering information
  • managing their time
  • improving engagement with learning activities
And much more!  There are videos of how learners are using the equipment and software and they describe in their own words how it has helped them.

Everyone is welcome to use this resource to see how they could adopt new methods to help learners progress.  Access is from the link in the menu on our website www.rsc-yh.ac.uk.

The JISC Regional Support Centre welcomes feedback on this resource – email support@rsc-yh.ac.uk – and we hope to add new case studies to this portal soon.
