JISC RSC YH e-Learning in HE Symposium for FE/HE

Call for Papers

The JISC Regional Support Centre for Yorkshire & Humber is now inviting papers for our forthcoming e-Learning in HE Symposium for presentation and/or to appear in publication. This follows the highly successful inaugural event last year and is of particular interest to strategy makers and practitioners delivering HE courses in either the FE or HE sectors.

There will be four main strands to the symposium and we warmly invite session proposals under these themes:

• Innovation in Teaching and Learning – current hot topics, new application and technology services that are becoming pivotal to teaching and learning. Exploration of how e-learning is improving the teaching and learning experiences, for example use of web 2.0 in curriculum, e-assessment, use of mobile learning, gaming, simulations and second life.
• Looking beyond the institution – issues, ideas and best practices of interest to, or with implications for, higher education enterprise, not specific to a particular institution.  Emphasis is on collaboration and partnership and other topics beyond the campus level.
• Supporting students – practice and work based learning, transition through FE to HE, e-assessment, plagiarism and inclusivity.
• Projects and research for HE and HE in FE – outputs from projects, qualifications e.g. Master degree dissertations.  This is an opportunity to bring to a wider audience regional research and practice.

We strongly welcome submissions from those working in the HE in FE sector, in the small HEIs and Universities in our region and from organisations supporting and encouraging partnerships across the region.

The Symposium will consist of a mixture of plenary talks and parallel sessions.  The parallel sessions may be a case study, a demonstration or a workshop and discussion within these sessions is encouraged.  There will also be an area for poster display and poster presentations are invited under the same themes as above.

We are planning to publish a collection of articles based on the sessions given at the conference.  A brief synopsis of the presentation will be included in this document, which will be available in the delegate pack.  There may also be the possibility of publishing your research in this document but not presenting it at the conference.
