Netskills logoThere is still time to book on the following workshops that Netskills will be running in Newcastle this November:

1. Nvivo – software for qualitative data analysis, 17th November
—————————————————–
NVivo is a quick and easy tool for storing and retrieving data. It provides the tools to manage data, create codes and search text to aid the analysis of data. This workshop will focus on introducing the primary tools available through NVivo which can assist qualitative researchers in managing and analysing data.

2. Project Management for the Education Sector, 21st November
—————————————————–
This workshop introduces a project management methodology that can be adapted for any size of project and is specifically tailored to the needs of the education sector. The day is interactive, providing a structured approach to project management and investigating a number of examples.

It is provided in conjunction with JISC infoNet, the advisory service for managers in the post-compulsory education sector promoting effective planning, implementation and management of information and learning technology.

3. Dynamic Presentations for Interactive Teaching, 21st November

Interactive whiteboards (IWBs) and audience response (or voting) systems have become widespread across the education sector in recent years. Are they being used well by the staff that have access to them? This workshop explores the possibilities provided by these devices. It discusses the pedagogic and curricular implications, gives a grounding in their main features and provides practical experience in using them.

4. Dreamweaver: The Essentials, 24th – 25th November

Dreamweaver is a popular software package incorporating tools for web page creation and web site control and management. This 2-day workshop delivers an essential guide to the core features for the creation, formatting, management and updating of web page content.

5. Databases on the Web, 28th November
—————————————————–
Being able to integrate database technology with the provision of web content is now a common expectation for web site developers. Harnessing these techniques can improve the management, maintenance and scalability of your web sites. This practical workshop teaches you the skills needed to provide web access to existing databases – enabling you to start developing web sites using database-managed content with confidence.
