New SusteIt events on New Build and Virtualisation

The JISC-funded SusteIT project has set up three new, and FREE, events. One is focusing on the business and environmental case for virtualisation and shared data centres and will be held at the University of Bristol on November 3rd. It features a number of practitioner presentations.

The ‘Intelligent Campus’ event, at Birkbeck College,  London on September 29th, considers three key IT-related issues for tomorrow’s Estate – How can buildings be ‘future proofed’ to accommodate future IT requirements? Should all building services utilise a common Internet Protocol (IP) platform? And how can Estates and IT departments work more effectively together?

A companion event, at King’s College, London, on September 30th, considers IT issues as part of the broader topic of how the sector can achieve more ‘High Performance Buildings’ . Both events feature a US speaker from Ave Maria University, which considers IT and Estates issues to be so inter-connected that they have merged them into a single department.
