The programme is delivered by NIACE on behalf of the Quality Improvement Agency (QIA) as part of the Teaching and Learning Programme.
E-Guides is an introduction for post-16 practitioners to e-learning and using technology effectively in teaching and learning. The E-Guides programme aims to increase the use of e-learning through developing the skills and knowledge of E-Guides so that they are able to support colleagues from all subjects in their use of technology in teaching and learning.
The programme utilises sector-specific materials and case studies, and trainers are recruited with specialist knowledge and experience of learning delivery in sectors such as work based learning and offender learning and skills.
The training is aimed at all staff, paid and unpaid, in post-16 education who are involved with the delivery of learning across different subjects and areas of learning. This includes staff from Learning and Skills Council (LSC) funded learning providers in Voluntary and Community Sector organisations, Workers Education Association, staff in Offender Learning and Skills, Work Based Learning organisations, Local Authorities and FE colleges. E-Guides need to be confident in their use of ICT, enthusiastic about e-learning, willing to champion change and able to work well with colleagues. For staff to be eligible to participate, their organisation must be funded by the LSC and their application should be accompanied by the provider’s UPIN number (this is issued by the LSC).
