NIACE is now recruiting experienced e-learning practitioners to join their E-Guide trainer pool.
The E-Guides training programme, which supports staff in developing the use of e-learning, has been running since January 2004. The programme is now being funded for a further year, and participants will be from adult and community learning, work-based learning, offender learning and skills and the voluntary and community sector.
The programme aims to increase the use of e-learning through developing the skills and knowledge of E-Guides to support colleagues in their use of technology for learning. The programme does not aim to deliver core ICT skills but is intended to equip staff with the knowledge, skills and understanding to put ICT into everyday work. Trainers will need to have a sound grasp of ICT in a teaching and learning environment. A checklist of ICT skills is provided.
A programme outline, training materials and trainer’s notes have been developed and revised. The training will be delivered between September 2008 and June 2009 in 9 regions. The programme will be delivered as
follows:
- Day One and Two
- Following this participants will be able to access peer and trainer support through an online discussion group
- Day Three Regional workshops 4/6 weeks later
There will be 30 participants and 2 trainers per course.
Trainers may also be asked to deliver post-training workshops which are delivered to small groups and are based around negotiated content.
