Has your institution signed up for the British Library’s online resources? They are offering two major digital resources: Archival Sound Recordings and 19th Century Newspapers. Funded by the JISC, licenses are available for free to UK higher and further education.
Archival Sound Recordings provides access to music, spoken word and environmental sounds from the British Library Sound Archive. The collections provide a wealth of inter-disciplinary, primary source material to liven up classes and inspire students. The resource covers a broad range subject areas, including history, English, music, art & design, media, social sciences and political studies.

If you have already signed up, then how much do your staff and students know about these resources? We are always happy to provide publicity materials for your library or to circulate to your staff. We can also offer a limited number of workshops on using digital resources at your institution, and can provide materials for you to hold your own training sessions.
