The JISC Regional Support Centre for Yorkshire & Humber supports all LSC funded provision in the region in terms of e-learning and the strategies associated with this. As part of this brief, we also support all E-Guides in the region.
We recently carried out a survey around how e-guides could be supported and the overwhelming response was that people wanted some face to face meetings and an online forum the rest of the time. To this effect, we have organised a free face to face meeting for all E-Guides in the region on June 17th, 2008 in Halifax. To come to this event, you need to join our online forum (see details below) and confirm your attendance:
- Go to http://eguide.ning.com
- If you don’t have one, create a NING profile
- Once you’ve been approved for membership, return to http://eguide.ning.com and click on the Face2Face Event
- Towards the top right of the screen select “Will be attending” and confirm
We’ll email you as soon as we have final numbers to confirm any access or dietary requirements, as well as sending you details of the day.
In the meantime, please look around the forum and feel free to make a start at sharing best practice and contributing to discussions. Even if you’re unable to come to the event, please join the forum so we can meet and support you “virtually”
Please note:
While we will approve anyone for the online forum who is clearly an e-guide at a supported organisation, the face to face meeting is strictly for e-guides that currently work for a supported organisation within the Yorkshire & Humber Region (including ACL, WBL, OLAS & CVS). Please note that Offender Learning e-guides who work at prisons within Yorkshire & Humber can attend the event, even if their institution is outside the region (eg Manchester College). If you have any concerns about this, please contact us through the forum or at support@rsc-yh.ac.uk .
