This Master Class will cover the wider context of projects and how they affect (and are affected by) the organisation’s ability to meet strategic objectives. Techniques for ensuring that the right projects are undertaken will be demonstrated. Maintaining a strategic and benefits-driven control over an institution’s portfolio of projects will feature strongly.
The roles and make-up of project and programme steering boards and their relationship with project managers will be covered.
JISC infoNet has developed a project methodology specifically tailored to the needs of the education sector which can be adapted for any size of project.
The workshop will be an interactive day aiming to introduce delegates to a structured approach to Strategic Project Division and will cover the following topics:
Where does your project fit in?
What is your project going to achieve?
Who needs to be involved?
How will you keep on track and focussed?
***This event can be combined with the Project Management Workshop “Taking a Structured Approach”taking place the day before at the same venue (see JISC RSC YH website for further details).***
