Our region has had success in the Technology Exemplar Network!

Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education has been announced as one of the ten outstanding further education and skills providers from across England that will form the Technology Exemplar Network, designed to help colleges and other learning providers use technology more effectively.

The Technology Exemplar Network, which is jointly led by government technology partner Becta and the Learning and Skills Council (LSC), will work to share best practice for using technology between different learning providers across the country.

The exemplars will receive funding to help develop their use of technology and share their successes with others.

Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education has set an ambitious technology agenda, benchmarking its achievements against world-class standards. The institute has developed a real culture of change in its teaching methods and uses technology across the whole organisation – from the classroom to management. These developments are helping to engage the individuals and companies it serves.

Applications are open now for new members of the Technology Exemplar Network at www.becta.org.uk/feandskills/exemplarnetwork . The closing date for applications is 19 March 2008 and successful applicants will be announced in April.
