The Jorum team have organised a series of events, covering both Jorum User and Jorum Contributor. The intention is to provide hands on training and practical advice. The events are geared towards staff from the following areas:
- Potential and existing Jorum Site Reps
- Learning resource, library, online services or e-learning staff
- Potential contributors of learning and teaching resources
- Learning technologists and staff from projects producing electronic resources
The event in our region takes place at York St John University on 8th February 2008 from 10am until 3pm. Registration is free and each event will deal with the User Service in the morning, and the Contributor Service following lunch. The events are aimed at staff from further and higher education institutions.

What is Jorum?
Jorum is actually a word of Biblical origin meaning ‘a collecting (or drinking!) bowl’. The key focus of Jorum is to build a ‘community for sharing’ whereby resources available to the community through Jorum have also been created by the community. Therefore the majority of materials you will see in Jorum have been created and contributed by people just like you.
